    The Role

    An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager to join the Essense team. This is a new position based in our Lenexa, KS office that has been created to support our ongoing global growth.  This role will have a tremendous impact on the day-to-day activities of the organization with high visibility to senior management both domestically and abroad.  Effectively managing the company’s projects is paramount to the continued success of the organization.


    We are looking for a hands-on, driven individual to work alongside our management team, across all lines of our business, to ensure all objectives are completed efficiently.  This role reports to the Chief Innovation Officer, is based in our U.S. office and is responsible for developing programs to support the organization's strategic direction, as well as creating and managing long term goals. You will also be in charge of developing budgets and operating plans for programs and writing program funding proposals.  Most importantly, individuals in this role must have a strong consultation and collaboration skills coupled with broad business acumen in order to effectively manage projects with key stakeholders throughout the business.


    What We Expect: 


    Accountable for all outcomes and deliverables associated with the different stages of assigned projects:

    • Create and maintain necessary project management documentation, templates, and reports, to include business cases, project requirements, project charters, status reports, SOW, meeting agendas/notes, and lessons learned.
    • Coordinate and monitor projects through all phases.
    • Develop project level budgets and operating plans.
    • Build and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects.
    • Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle.
    • Regularly coach and provide feedback to project team members, and insure team is adhering to agreed timelines and milestones; adjusting plans to ensure deliverables adhere to project scope.
    • Partner and collaborate with stakeholders in scoping and budgeting of projects and managing stakeholder expectations regarding project timelines and outcomes.
    • Proactively identify, manage, and communicate issues and risks.
    • Address and resolve conflict through diplomatic facilitation, sound negotiation skills and consensus building techniques.
    • Obtain stakeholder sign-off, conduct project review, and compile all related documentation.
    • Developing an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.

    • At least 10 years of work experience in project management role.
    • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Advanced knowledge of Scrum, Agile and Kanban concepts, methodologies, and practices of project management; PMP certification will be highly regarded.
    • Experience using appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
    • Strong leadership capabilities (including managing cross-functional project teams) with the ability to prioritize work based on business impact.
    • Ability to work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously while meeting agreed deadlines.
    • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate strong empathy and patience when collaborating with colleagues.
    • Strong ability to build solid business relationships across the organization.
    • Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive project documents.
    • Organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to come up with creative, well-thought out solutions to address user needs.
    • Requires ability and willingness to work outside of standard business hours to occasionally support our international business needs, as well as to implement solutions in order to limit impact / exposure to customer.
