The Role

We are looking for a Logistics and Compliance Coordinator to join our growing team. This position will be based out of our Lenexa, KS location and will function as part of the Global Operations team, reporting directly to the International Trade Compliance & Logistics Manager. This role coordinates the transportation and distribution of goods between warehouses, factories, trade fairs, and retailers.

The successful candidate will confidently handle the day-to-day aspects of monitoring shipping routes and delivery; effectively navigate multiple priorities and be persistent in resolving logistics issues or delays. The ideal person is a team player and has a can-do attitude and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.


What We Expect:

  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain logistics.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external and internal departments regarding transportation, scheduling, and handling day-to-day logistics queries and issues.
  • Work with carriers to ensure prompt pick-up and delivery of shipments within established deadlines, and to identify and avoid capacity constraints.
  • Resolve logistics issues or shipping delays with a sense of urgency and manage corrective action plans for mis-shipments.
  • Create shipping labels, commercial invoices, export documents, and other freight documentation on assigned shipments to ensure compliance regulations are met and shipments arrive in a timely manner to customer, without customs delays.
  • Update and maintain information in company-wide shipment tracker.
  • Distribute factory invoices to appropriate parties in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Analyst on “Best in Box” sales program management. Create Sales Force cases for store returns and issue shipping labels and monitor compliance.
  • Responsible for assisting in material set-ups and the ongoing management of all Essense products with the ERP system.
  • Assist with visual checks of product data and costing on select selling documents and customer facing systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide support for Event Gown Movement. Work closely with Merchandising Operations on both the physical and systematic movement of gowns needed in support of Bridal Events.
  • Execute and manage requests for Intercompany Transfers of goods between countries.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned, including but not limited to, style checks, factory costs and/or freight code updates.


What We Are Looking For: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management, organizational management, supply chain management, or related field preferred. Experience often may substitute for education.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a logistical or transportation environment.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and possess strong practical and technical skills.
  • Ability to communicate and present information in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Experience dealing with supply chain, purchasing, and logistics, including outside vendors.
  • Exposure to inbound and outbound logistics across a variety of movement and service types.
  • Understanding of receiving process, discrepancy handling, and inventory control.
  • Strong coordination and organization skills with attention to detail.
  • A procedural mindset with a talent for recognizing opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ability to clearly document processes for communication and training throughout the organization.
  • Ability to provide ongoing oversight of very detailed processes.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with customers (external and internal) and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High degree of desktop computer proficiency and familiarity with ERP and standard business systems.
  • Exceptional Excel skills and the working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A strong team player with the willingness to assist supply chain members and other teams with tasks as requested by upper management.

Preference given to Candidates with:

  • Export and import documentation experience.
  • Experience in creating and reviewing export documents.
  • Experience working with brokers to classify commodities in various countries.
