Overview

This maternity leave cover is a 1-year contract however the position may be available beyond the initial contract period.

 

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our Factory Operations department. This position requires a highly organised and motivated individual with strong stakeholder and project management experience. 

 

This role will be responsible for the timely delivery of project outcomes, drive business process changes related to improving sustainability and delivering analytical insights. The successful application will have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, experience managing multiple projects, the ability to interact with leadership and build solid relationships across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining factory relationships through regular communication with factory administrative staff (area leads).
  • Review of factory performance against KPIs developed per factory.
  • Resolution of BAU issues related to factory operations.
  • Monitoring and maintaining of factory standards.
  • Manage department projects and deliver them on time, within scope and budget.
  • Stakeholder engagement and collaboration to achieve business outcomes of seasonal timeline & collection launch.
  • Management of transition of new factories into BAU processes.
  • Research & development of new business initiatives to support sustainable practices.
  • Project management for implementation of new systems & processes related to compliance & sustainability.
  • Be an active partner in the business working cross departmentally to collaborate & communicate business objectives with factories as well as supporting all staff with factory dealings.
  • Review and evaluate staff performance regularly, conduct and document annual reviews.
  • Travel to offshore factories

Qualifications

  • Formal tertiary qualifications in Fashion, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior role within Supply Chain in the garment industry or related field.
  • Strong stakeholder management and project management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • High level of computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated understanding of garment manufacturing processes.
  • Fabric knowledge and or manufacturing industry experience would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and improvement strategies in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Advanced, interpersonal skills interacting with leadership, and building solid and trusted working relationships across the organization.
  • Thorough, data-driven approach and a willingness to consult and collaborate with others to overcome obstacles and achieve the best results.
  • Leadership presence, business acumen, and soft skills.
  • Flexibility to learn in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong internal customer service mindset.
  • Good understanding of business intelligence and reporting.
  • Knowledge of process improvement models such as Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen.
  • Passionate about making a difference through sustainable practices.
  • Experienced in corporate sustainability/ corporate responsibility.
