Responsibilities

The Role 

 

At Essense, we do more than sell wedding dresses. We value relationships and partner with independent bridal retail stores worldwide to provide industry-leading support and service while delivering exceptional products. As the Vice President of Sales, you will help take these relationships to the next level while delivering results, growing revenue and guiding the world-class sales team of the industry’s leading bridal wholesale brand.  

 

While responsible for the global sales organization, this role will be based in our Lenexa, Kansas office, where the majority of our sales organization is located.  

 

In this role, you will: 

 

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing sales team to deliver revenue growth and expand our brand market share. 
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with our independent bridal retailers throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia and the U.K., helping them grow their businesses while delivering world-class support and service. 
  • Play an integral role in our premier industry events and best-in-class trainings, serving as a trusted advisor and partner to bridal store owners, managers and their staff.  
  • Participate as a key member of the global leadership team, working closely with Company owners and other executives to collaborate and lead key company initiatives and strategic sales plans.  
  • Build strong relationships, both internally and externally to influence the success of your team and our organization. 

 

What We Expect 

 

  • Leverage innovation and data-driven insights to refine and enhance our sales strategies. 
  • Develop and execute tailored sales strategies to drive revenue within existing markets that align with each country’s specific market, cultural and demographic needs.  
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and execution of sales strategies. 
  • Leverage data using our proprietary tools and technology to analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform strategic decision-making. 
  • Understand our target end consumer (bride) as well as our B2B customer (stores). Must be interested in and follow trends that impact both our end consumers and the business owners we sell to.  
  • Be passionate about our product, the bridal industry, and working with stores to deliver exceptional dresses for exceptional experiences.  

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For 

 

The successful candidate will be a driven and forward-thinking leader who understands that diligent planning and clear communication are key to achieving stellar results. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of sales drive and emotional intelligence coupled with organizational awareness to allow for effective individual and team performance. Our culture thrives on energy and collaboration, and the desire to achieve results and celebrate ongoing successWe also require: 

 

  • Proven track record of success in driving sales and leading high-performing teams. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; MBA or similar advanced degree preferred. 
  • 10-15 years of progressively responsible leadership experience, preferably with entrepreneurial companies; international experience strongly preferred but not required. 
  • Strong knowledge of consumer goods, wholesale or retail sales, understanding of retail environment and target customers (both wholesale and retail); B2B sales experience in the fashion, luxury products or bridal industry strongly preferred, but not required. Experience working with independent business owners helpful.   
  • Expert-level communication, negotiation and presentation skills. 
  • Strategic and results-driven mindset with a strong business acumen. 
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, CRM, Business Insights and Project Management tools; experience with Salesforce highly valued.
