Responsibilities

The Role

We’re looking for a Brand Marketing Operations Manager who loves process as much as they love people. This role is part project manager, part coach and mentor—driving clarity, building systems, and empowering our social and communications teams to deliver their best work.

Based in Kansas City, this person will bring energy, planning expertise, and organizational skills to our business every daywhile fostering the collaborative, positive, and entrepreneurial environment that makes us Team Essense.

You’ll have a proven track record of building and improving processes for teams that are equal parts strategic and creative. You’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of brand marketing initiatives, with a strong focus on content publishing, social media, and communications. From campaign launches to content calendars, you’ll keep projects running seamlessly—managing timelines, streamlining workflows, and clearing roadblocks—while also motivating the team behind the work.

We’re seeking a team player who thrives in an entrepreneurial culture, brings positivity to work each day, and helps us keep our environment creative, inspiring, productive, and fun. If you love structure, collaboration, and empowering creative teams, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Work upstream and downstream with partners to align on key dates impacting or impacted by activities within the department and with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Partner with social leaders to identify and manage resources across multiple projects.
  • Serve as the department intake for briefs, working with team members to identify gaps and needs before going into the department’s work streams.
  • Create and maintain necessary project management documentation, templates, and reports, to include project requirements, project briefs, status reports, meeting agendas/notes, and lessons learned.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships and trust with team members and other departments involved in the projects.
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle; ensure key milestones and approvals are communicated and achieved.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and communicate issues and risks to the project deliverables and timelines.
  • Seek out and establish the tools, technology and processes to standardize workflow, eliminate redundancies and inefficiencies.
  • Responsible for communicating timely updates and distributing feedback to the appropriate team members.
  • Troubleshoot bottlenecks, proactively resolve issues, and keep projects moving forward.
  • Champion clarity and continuous improvement, embracing change and helping others adapt in a way that keeps people motivated and engaged.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or similar field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 7+ years in either project management or operations, with at least 3+ years directly managing teams. Marketing experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical aptitude with an ability to connect dots, ask insightful questions and synthesize feedback from multiple sources.
  • Ability to think and plan end-to-end; can identify and timeline steps to complete complex or ambiguous projects.
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously while meeting agreed deadlines.
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
  • Procedure and process oriented with ability and inclination to document, socialize and hold others accountable for procedures.
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours on an occasional basis according to business needs.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Innate ability to anticipate challenges and remove barriers.
  • Ability to map processes and enjoys it -- has never met a process that can’t be improved.
  • Experience with Wrike or other project management tools; excellent Excel skills.
  • Must have the ability to work at a fast pace with a sense of hustle while remaining detail-oriented.
  • Must be curious and have a continuous improvement mindset.
